The LPN Cafe was created by Michelle Lazarovich, a Licensed Practical Nurse working in the Vancouver area.
Michelle began her nursing career in 2003 after graduating from Vancouver Community College's Practical Nursing Program.
A few years later she began to realize the need for a central place for LPNs in BC to be able to find relevent nursing information and share stories about various nursing careers. There just wasn't anywhere out there that was exclusively for LPNs so Michelle took the initiative to build an online community for LPNs in BC - a cafe of sorts, in that it is a place for LPNs to gather, chat, and access information.
It was a daunting task in the beginning, gathering all of the content, learning computer software, and spending hours upon hours putting it all together, all the while working full time as a nurse. Eventually The LPN Cafe was launched and since then it has grown immensely in popularity each year.
The Hot Jobs and Courses sections are wildly popular with LPNs however Michelle is most proud of the LPN Profiles on the website because it's an opportunity for LPNs to get a glimpse of other nursing careers across the province.
Michelle continues her dedicated work making The LPN Cafe more comprehensive, relevent, and exciting each year and she hopes LPNs across British Columbia will continue to enjoy it as much as she does.

This is a place that will hopefully feel as inviting, cozy and stimulating as your local coffee shop - an online destination where LPNs can learn about what other LPNs are doing, stay informed and up to date on the latest hot topics, search for exciting jobs, find nursing events, and even shop for scrubs.
The Vision of the LPN Cafe
The LPN Cafe is a website dedicated to facilitating communication between BC's Licensed Practical Nurses by providing an online community for access to nursing information that is hopefully clear, balanced and relevant.
